CELLA is Hiring a Medical Editor Near North Chicago, IL
Location: Mettawa, IllinoisJob Type: ContractCompensation Range: $38 - 43 per hourWe are seeking a meticulous and skilled Medical Editor to join our client's dynamic team! As a Medical Editor, you will play a critical role in aligning projects with brand standards, industry regulations, and corporate style guidelines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and quality of pharmaceutical marketing, health education, and corporate materials.Responsibilities:Proofread and edit pharmaceutical marketing, health education, and corporate materials for spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors; format/style inconsistencies; and ensure sense and clarity.Align projects with brand standards and corporate style.Ensure projects comply with applicable industry and FDA regulations.Verify that Medical/Regulatory/Legal feedback has been properly implemented.Notate and communicate any edits and content queries in a clear, concise manner.Fact-check medical claims against published sources and create annotated reference documents.Assist with project submissions using the Veeva Vault PromoMats platform.Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to deliver targeted, high-quality work.Attend kickoff, status, and other job-related meetings.Provide editorial leadership for assigned accounts, taking ownership and overseeing projects from concept to completion.Qualifications:Experience level: Experienced3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical advertising editing.Education: BachelorsExceptional medical proofreading and editing skills, including content referencing.Command of AMA 11th edition style.Experience fact-checking and annotating medical claims.Experience submitting projects via Veeva Vault PromoMats is a definite plus.Familiarity with FDA regulations for the promotion of prescription drugs.Fluency in reviewing digital/interactive/tablet and print tactics targeted toward a variety of audiences, including medical professionals, consumers, and corporate stakeholders.Relentless attention to detail, with the ability to look at projects holistically.Ability to review for language (spelling, grammar, consistency) and design (colors, formatting, spacing, line wraps, etc.).Strong time management skills; able to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy.Proactive and able to prioritize, research, and problem-solve independently.Approachable demeanor; positive attitude; collaborative and diplomatic communication style.Proficient in Adobe Acrobat Professional and Microsoft Word.
