2nd Shift Industrial Maintenance Technician

About the job

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and installation of industrial process machinery. This is a position which requires proficiency in all industrial maintenance disciplines, troubleshooting, problem solving, logical thinking, diagnosing and repairing electrical issues with machinery and down-stream equipment, safety practices and all forms of communication. The Technician must also exhibit a positive attitude and be self- motivated in all aspects of their responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established plant wide and department safety rules as well as all GMP, SQF, SOP, LOTO monthly plant safety inspections, and Work Instruction guidelines
  • Report any safety concerns or problems
  • Troubleshoot and repair extrusion molding machines and accessory support equipment.
  • Perform hydraulic repairs including cylinders and components
  • Perform electrical repairs on AC/DC controls from 24 volt up to 3 phase 480 volt
  • Make necessary plumbing connections and disconnections needed for machines and accessory support equipment
  • Safely operate forklift
  • Safely operate hand held tools, bench grinders and power tools
  • Complete preventative maintenance checks
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment and completing all required training.

Qualifications

· To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential functions satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. · Capable of working with limited supervision and handle multiple tasks at one time.

· Must successfully complete the forklift training and certification process and maintain license.

· Must be able to work at heights (with fall protection) and not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness

· Must be able to climb ladders, maneuver in, under and between tight spaces without risk of alterations in consciousness

Education And/or Experience

High School diploma, GED equivalent required

· Vocational Education and/or Training that includes machine repair and industrial electricity

· Three to five years’ experience working on machinery and equipment in an industrial maintenance environment

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, prints, procedure manuals and diagrams

· Ability to perform basic math functions and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

· Must have the ability to identify and correct problems

· Must have tools required for job

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
