Celerity in Quakertown, PA is looking for a experienced FT Construction Technician (level 2 or 3). This person would be responsible for the construction and maintenance of aerial and underground telecommunications cables and infrastructure for both fiber and copper facilities. It requires working in both outside plant and inside plant environments. The position is also responsible for performing maintenance on existing cables and other infrastructure, including evaluation tests and repairing old or malfunctioning facilities. This position also requires the ability to locate problem areas and perform repairs as needed.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Climbs utility poles and uses aerial lift devices• Operates a bucket truck• Frames and assists in setting poles• Runs a trencher or vibratory plow and other small excavation equipment, including but not limited to, a jackhammer, chop saw, gas drill, and/or a water pump• Places support strand and uses a lasher• Places telecommunications cables including both fiber and copper• Places conduits, handholes and manholes• Pulls cable in both underground and aerial situations• Places cable, innerduct and other facilities as required inside buildings• Accesses manholes, tunnels and other confined spaces• Accurately locates existing underground facilities• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed• Communicates effectively with other team members and supervisory personnel

Education and Experience:

• CDL-A license preferred but not required
• Pole-setting and aerial/climbing experience
• Five years telecommunications field experience
• Heavy equipment operator certification required within six months of hire
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Salary: Starting salary ranges from $22.00 to $28.00/hour based on experience, qualifications and skill level.
