CEFCO Convenience Stores is Hiring a Loss Prevention Specialist Near Temple, TX

The Loss Prevention Specialist identifies various types of losses and thefts, works cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment providing critical guidance to Operations on asset protection and profit improvement initiatives.

General Responsibilities:

Monitors assigned store locations to detect, investigate, and resolve internal and external situations and circumstances that could lead to or result in losses to the company. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Leads, supports, and/or conducts investigations (internal theft, external theft, and fraud), and proactively monitors controls through intelligence and exception-based reporting for each aspect of the business, including cash, lottery, merchandise, and food losses.
  • Examines and analyzes data, including excel spreadsheets and reports, for any potential theft activities.
  • Maintains confidentiality concerning all conversations, printed matter, electronic data, phone messages, and other Loss Prevention business conducted within the scope of the position.
  • Effectively partners and communicates with Operations and Human Resources team members, as well as Law Enforcement Agencies, regarding ongoing investigations, incidents, and training opportunities.
  • Provides direct written and verbal feedback and instruction to Store Managers and District Managers to assist them in controlling and reducing losses.
  • Tracks and reports on metrics for assigned region.
  • Serves as one of the Company’s “boots on the ground” employees for safety inspections to help ensure customer and employee safety.

Equipment:

  • Verifies that LP equipment such as safes, alarms, DVRs, cameras and all personal protective equipment are present and functional.
  • Manages vendor relationships with regards to equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Records videos for Law Enforcement Agencies, insurance companies, and HR department.

Qualifications:

5 years’ loss prevention experience in a multi-unit retail environment; retail experience must include familiarity with store systems regarding execution of tasks, handheld scanners, phones, workstations, etc.; possess strong leadership abilities to motivate and influence Operations partners; working knowledge of DVRs, cameras, and safes; experience performing store safety inspections; must possess professional-level written and verbal communication skills and be able to interact with all levels within an organization; must have strong analytical skills and be able to read and interpret data; must have intermediate skills in MS Office Suite, particularly the ability to manipulate and analyze data in Excel spreadsheets; able to travel between 25-50%; must have a clean driving record; on-call availability must include: after normal business hours, weekends, and holidays, if needed.

Preferred:

2 years’ loss prevention experience in a multi-unit convenience store chain; experience working in PDI.
