Remote details: 60% on-site in a lab / 40% remote

Reason for need:

•  5G Challenge
  • Basically, invite industry leaders from all over to our organization as the primary host lab where they will measure characteristics for the maturity of the Open RAN Ecosystem
  • Testing individual components & E2E plug in play
• Expanding the ORAN Ecosystem

Project Details:

•  Lab Work
  • Proof of concepts, deployment scenarios, deployment verification
  • End-to-End 5G Stack System Integration from UI to the Core
  • System, Network, & RAN integration
  • Provide Architectural guidance
  • Heavy research, plug & playing with components, etc.

General Must Have Skills:

1. DevOps Engineering experience
2. 5G / ORAN experience
   1. Ability to virtualize the RAN environment
   2. Disaggregated core RAN experience
   3. ORAN experience
3. System Integration experience
   1. Has the ability to be thrown in a lab & integrate components of their RAN network
   2. Integrate a component of RAN network and establish end to end data sessions with different vendors
4.  Radio Frequency (RF) Engineering experience
5. Network Engineering experience
   1. Can set IP addresses
   2. Knows how to use switches & LANs
   3. Etc.

General Must Have Skills:

1. Kubernetes experience
2. VMWare / VM Suite experience
3. Software experience
   1. the use of a software solution, rather than traditional hardware, to solve a problem.
4. RAN Virtualization experience
5. Disaggregated core RAN experience
6. ORAN experience 
7. Cloud Experience
   1. AWS
   2. Azure
8. Wireshark experience

Day to day responsibilities:

•  Lab Work
  • Proof of concepts, deployment scenarios, deployment verification
  • End-to-End 5G Stack System Integration from UI to the Core
  • System, Network, & RAN integration
  • Provide Architectural guidance
  • Heavy research, plug & playing with components, etc.
  • Troubleshooting switches & routes
  • Handling physical cable lines within the lab
