Cedarbrook Senior Living is Hiring a Cook - Full-Time 1st Shift Near Rochester, MI

Prep/Line Cook 

At Cedarbrook Senior Living,we work hard every day to find out what “Celebrating Life Every Day!” means toour residents and their families, then we help them achieve these goals.

We are seeking a Line/Prep Cook to provide a "restaurant style" experience for our residents by doing the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Performs all aspectsof meal preparation, cooking and presentation.
  • Keeps cookingstations stocked, uses a batch cooking method for all food items withdocumented time/temperature logs.
  • Follows recipes,portion controls and presentation specifications as set by the executive chef.
  • Restocks allitems as need throughout the shift and completes an order sheet to maintain the appropriate level of supplies andinventory.

Qualifications:

  • Has understandingand knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment.
  • Assists with cleaning, sanitation,organization of kitchen, coolers, freezers and all storage areas.
  • Assists with washing pots and pans alongwith dishwasher on other projects.
  • Is willing and able to assist with dailylineup meetings.
  • Abilityto work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a team environment andtake direction.
  • Minimum of 2-3 yearsprevious cook experience or 3 years of prep cook experience.
  • Solidunderstanding of professional cooking and knife skills.
  • Understanding andknowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
  • Professionalcommunication skills including verbal and listening skills.
  • Must beself-motivated, organized and able to problem solve.
