Cedar Sinai Park is looking for an Interim Controller!

The Interim Controller is responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and financial compliance administration for the group of entities. This position is interim – approximately 6-9 months – with possibility of permanent placement.

Organization 

Cedar Sinai Park (Robison Jewish Home) is comprised of a large senior living campus located in Raleigh Hills and 4 HUD affordable housing complexes. The organization currently consists of 3 corporations and 3 partnerships. All finance functions are centrally managed from the Raleigh Hills campus location.

Essential Functions

· Plans, directs, coordinates and is responsible for all accounting operational functions

· Supervises the activities of the accounting staff including hiring, training, and retaining skilled staff

· Manages the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results

· Coordinates and prepares internal and external financial statements

· Coordinates and reviews the activities of external auditors and tax preparers

· Provides management with monthly financial statements and other information vital to the decision-making process

· Assesses current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes

· Evaluates accounting and internal control systems

· Evaluates the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed

· Oversees regulatory reporting including tax and regulatory compliance

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

· Must have solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills.

· Possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), internal control and cost control principles

· Working knowledge of federal and state financial regulations

· High level of problem solving, coordinating and time management skills

· Consistent execution of quality customer service

· Demonstrates and maintains ethical conduct

· Positive and constructive attitude

Working Environment & Physical Demands

· Works in a well-lit and well-ventilated facility

· Records are kept electronically with VPN available

· May require periodic overtime

· Manual dexterity, good vision and hearing is required

Required Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

· CPA preferred

· Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued.

· 5-7 years of relevant experience required

· Medical systems knowledge, experience with non-profit accounting principles, and long-term care experience a plus but not required
