    Overview:
    PRINCIPAL DUTIES
    Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all District bank accounts.
    Share responsibility with Accounting Specialist to print weekly accounts payable checks.
    Prepare monthly Financial Statements and Board of Education reports.
    Perform monthly review of balance sheet accounts.
    Administrator for Student Activity Funds; train bookkeepers, review funds.
    Fully understand internal controls in the Accounting Department; train others.
    Perform cash management training for staff; keep manuals and procedures updated.
    Reconcile open enrollment in/out of District. Prepare billings.
    Prepare Special Education billings and year-end reporting.
    Prepare other District billings (Tanager, St. Lukes, etc)
    Assist in preparation of Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and CAR Upload.
    1099 processing and reporting at year-end.
    In-Charge of collections/NSF/Book Fee collections, and stale checks.
    Prepare year-end reports; auditor reports and assistance with annual audit.
    Maintain District fixed asset listing; construction and capital asset reporting including year-end audit files. Perform physical inventory review and reconciliations.
    Provide training and support to building and department staff; Administrators. Answer questions.
    Update and maintain desk procedures.
    Create and maintain forms available to schools and departments.
    Assist Accounting Manager with other duties as assigned.
    Some travel between locations within the City and for professional development training.

    • Effective oral and written communication. Proficiency in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and related communication skills, including proofreading, editing, and creating original documents. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Demonstrate commitment to report to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis. Work overtime as required.
    • Capacity to represent the District in a professional manner, which includes but not limited to confidentiality, collegiality, and the ability to obtain and utilize additional training, if necessary.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and Google software; 10-key calculator.

    Qualification:
    EDUCATION LEVEL:
    4 year accounting or similar degree, with 5 years of accounting experience.
    SBO (School Business Official) License preferred but not required; will obtain after employment.

    The noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet. The employee will frequently work in different areas of the building including in/at desks, on or near the floor, standing, in movement while supervising students during indoor and outdoor activities, etc. The employee will usually work in indoor temperatures.
