Position Overview:

  • The position is for a Nuclear Medicine Tech on a PRN (as needed) basis.
  • Responsibilities include performing diagnostic radiographic procedures, adhering to Radiation Safety Procedures and ALARA principles.
  • The role involves patient interaction, education, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • The position requires knowledge and proficiency in using radiographic equipment, monitoring image quality, and maintaining equipment.
  • The tech will transport patients and equipment as needed, administer oxygen when necessary, and assist with various medical procedures.
  • Other responsibilities include maintaining records, assisting with orientation, and collaborating with colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Radiology is required.
  • The candidate must have a current Texas Medical Board (TMB) General Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification.
  • American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography (R) is required within 12 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is necessary.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of radiology experience in an acute care hospital setting is required.
  • The candidate should be available for on-call duties during after-hours, weekends, and holidays.
