We are adding a Field Service Technician to a newly acquired business platform Compass Water Solutions, a leading global supplier of membrane-based industrial water and wastewater treatment systems. The preferred location Southern California

Do you enjoy international travel? This position will require extensive travel (up to 90%) with extended durations (up to 3 weeks) for the installation, commissioning, and service of CWS equipment. Travel accommodations may be on a ship, offshore platform, or remote locations with minimal facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Effectively handle commissioning and startups for all CWS equipment worldwide. Provide daily reports on problems encountered, corrective action(s) taken, and obtain a sign off on each job.
2. Provide technical support via phone and email to customers and authorized service agents.
3. Train CWS authorized service representatives and customers on how to properly operate and maintain all CWS systems and components. Provide support including but not limited to scheduling, billing issues, labor rates, personnel training, quality, and technical.
4. Process daily warranty/non-warranty issues regarding items such as but not limited to logging in and scheduling Return Authorizations, determining what is considered warranty per our policies and use sound practices to handle these related issues quickly to assure customer satisfaction. Interface and communicate with service management on all customer service issues.
5. Help assure, track and monitor and customer satisfaction by follow up email, phone calls and visits as necessary to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
6. Prepare reports for service management including but not limited to field service reports, tracking billable hours, parts sales, return authorization, etc.
7. Create and update operations, maintenance manuals and service manuals as required.
8. Promote aftermarket parts, service and maintenance contracts through our representative network and direct customer contacts.
9. Calibrate and/or repair equipment returned from the field.
10. Keep up to date with new CWS products and technologies.
11. Perform all other tasks and duties assigned by the Director Aftermarket Sales & Service including but not limited to FAT testing, research testing, engineering assistance, etc.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Prior technical, mechanical experience required and marine shipboard strongly desired.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude required.
• Flexibility with schedule and work hours required.
• Must be willing and able to travel domestic and internationally for extended periods.
• Trade school education or equivalent experience preferred.
• English writing and communication skills required.

Physical Fitness Required:

• Able to lift 50 lbs. from the floor to shoulder level
• Able to carry 50 lbs. up a flight of stairs
• Able to walk up 5 - 10 flights of stairs
• Able to crawl up or down ships webbing to board support vessel
• Able to pass helicopter safety training and maintain certification 
• Able to work is difficult positions under extreme conditions
  1. Squatting, laying, sitting on floor, stretching, tight spaces 
  2. High temperature above 90 F with high humidity
  3. Low temperatures below 32 F
