  • JOB SUMMARY :
    Global Quality Director is responsible for development, oversight, integration, management and maintenance of Quality programs, plans, policies, and procedures for the Corporation to meet/exceed compliance requirements and standards and enables the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Global Quality Director leads and supports the implementation of an enterprise-wide Quality Management System (QMS) that monitors and evaluates internal and external production processes, examines products to determine their quality, ensures a company-wide commitment to Quality and engages with customers and suppliers on gathering product feedback.
  • Global Quality Director plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to processes, product quality and reliability while reporting out monthly/quarterly quality issues, metrics, and trends.
  • This role prepares Quality reports on key issues and required improvements, tracks Quality KPIs and Customer escapes and ensures corrective actions are complete and cost of poor quality measured and reduced.
  • This role works collaboratively across Safety, Manufacturing, Assembly, Operations, Engineering, Customer Service, Procurement, Finance, HR, IT, and Sales to ensure products are compliant to applicable customer quality standards, safety specifications, company policies, and regulations.
  • May manage others and/or a small team as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Partners directly with Safety, Operations, Engineering, Customer Service, Purchasing, Finance, HR, IT, and Sales teams to develop and validate processes designed to exceed customer requirements and on-time delivery.
  • Develops and leads Quality programs, plans, policies, and procedures to meet/exceed basic compliance requirements and adopts best practices that enable the highest levels of customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.
  • Supports the implementation of an enterprise-wide Quality Management System (QMS) to integrate legacy systems to track and reduce nonconformance to specifications, standards, and customer expectations in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Develops and maintains supplier scorecards and executes field audits on a scheduled cadence.
  • Supports and participates in on site audits.
  • Leads continual improvement projects to achieve quality objectives and metrics targets.
  • Lead quality systems documentation of records, forms, manuals, and instructions.
  • Develops, implements, communicates, and maintains the quality program to make the Company's Quality Management System and Policies (ISO 9001) compliant.
  • Leads in the root cause analysis of non-conformance and implements corrective actions.
  • Formulates, implements, and documents quality control objectives, initiatives, and procedures related to instrumentation calibration, product testing, auditing, and inspection.
  • Manages and maintains quality inspection and product release programs.
  • Oversees the Quality inspection and testing of mechanical, electrical, thermal, and chemical components and final assemblies for conformance to design and configuration requirements.
  • Assesses the product specifications of the company and its suppliers and compares them with customer requirements.
  • Writes quality procedures and provides training to the organization.
  • Prepares monthly Quality reports and reports on key issues and improvements.
  • Tracks Customer escapes and ensures corrective actions are complete and cost of poor quality measured and reduced.
  • Assesses the impact of regulatory changes that affect operations, raises awareness, and ensures compliance.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; required, Mechanical Engineering; preferred.
  • 10 years of experience as a Quality Manager/Director in a manufacturing environment
  • 10 years of managing a quality team
  • ISO 9001 experience required
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing experience; required.
  • MS Office Suite; required.
  • Experience with 8Ds, corrective action, and preventive action programs; required
LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS :
  • ASQ Certification (Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate); preferred
COMPETENCIES
KNOWLEDGE:
  • Quality - Knowledge of tools, SPC, concepts and methodologies of QA.
  • Manufacturing - Knowledge of production processes, costs, quality control, raw materials and other methods for maximizing the efficient manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Technical - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications including ISO/ASME and GD&T.
  • Proficiency with ISO, Lean Manufacturing
  • English Language-Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS :
Incumbents are expected to travel 25-40% of the time; must have the ability to travel across borders.
