Join the Head Start teaching team in a teacher assistant-type position in facilitating many classroom activities such as field trips, lesson planning, and classroom maintenance. This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of the Head Start classroom and start a career track to becoming a Head Start Teacher. This position may also assist in the kitchen, bus, and maintaining order among Head Start students while they are on the bus, or other areas of operation. As a minimum requirement, the applicant must be 18 years of age. This is an entry-level position requiring no previous education or experience unless there is a local or state regulation that requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. A high school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred. Some states may require additional requirements for kitchen aide duties (i.e., Safe Serve).
