Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the welding area. Principal Duties and Responsibilities : Safe operation of MIG welding machine and various other tools used to complete project Create quality and accurate welds according to blueprints.
Inspect welds for accuracy. Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel parts.
Change welding wire as needed. Change shielding gas tanks, as neededFollow and enforce all CDI safety rules and regulationsEnsure equipment is properly set-up & used in a safe manner & that all safety devices are in use.
Monitor functionality of equipment and tools and request maintenance when required.Perform basic maintenance and repair as required.
Effectively communicate with supervisors & other production staff to coordinate work schedulesOther duties as assigned. This is typically acquired with a High School diploma or GED.Combination of trade school and / or 2 years practical experienceAbility to weld or tack metal parts togetherAbility to read blueprintsLayout, position brace and secure parts within the unitsExamine units for defects and measure units to ensure conformanceWorking Condition / Physical Demands : Ability to stand or walk for extended amounts of timeAbility to frequently bend, twist, grip , squat and liftAbility to lift 75 pounds occasionally
