Eastern Iowa's premier underground utility construction company is seeking General Laborers to join our crews in Davenport and Iowa City. This is an ideal position for those that love to work outdoors and want a career in the telecommunication/utility construction industry. This position is 100% outside, working on a crew throughout the Quad Cities and/or Iowa City Cedar Rapids corridor.

Description:

• Clean up work areas and remove debris after extraction activities are complete.
• Organize materials to prepare for use.
• Provide assistance to operators and crew members.
• Set up or tear down job site.
• Dig pot holes or trenches to locate utilities using shovels or vac truck.
• Install handholes and pedestals.
• Backfill holes using shovels or mini excavator.
• Transport materials and/or equipment to a job site from shop yard.
• Wash down equipment and/or tools at end of day.
• Run errands for material, as necessary.

Work conditions:

• Exposure to varying temperatures as the work is outside.
• Noise levels are moderate coming from various equipment used on a job site.
• Work in different types of terrain including water, sand, and dirt.
• Varying degrees of light as work may beginning early morning and continue in the evenings.
• Travel from company shop throughout Iowa, overnight and/or response to emergency situations are possible.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license. CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsement is preferred and candidates with them will be given priority.
• Previous experience working in construction and/or landscaping industry.
