About Us:
CCWA-Paradise Farm Camps is a vibrant summer camp nestled in the heart of West Chester. With a commitment to fostering personal growth, leadership skills, and a love for the outdoors, we provide an unforgettable experience for campers entering kindergarten to 15 years old. Our waterfront activities, including swimming, swim lessons for younger campers, and canoeing are central to the camp experience, offering campers the chance to develop confidence, teamwork, and aquatic skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as the Waterfront Director. The Waterfront Director will oversee all aspects of waterfront activities, ensuring the safety, enjoyment, and skill development of campers and staff alike. This position will over see a team of lifeguards, thus requiring strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism. The Waterfront Director will work with the Director of Programs as well as the Program Coordinator to develop swim lessons and benchmarks for campers in the Junior Camp.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive waterfront program that aligns with camp goals and values
• Supervise and train waterfront staff, including lifeguards and activity instructors
• Enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures, ensuring compliance with camp, state, and ACA standards
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities, addressing any maintenance or safety concerns promptly
• Plan and facilitate swim lessons to enhance Junior Campers' aquatic abilities and confidence
• Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where campers feel supported and encouraged to participate
• Communicate effectively with camp leadership, staff, and parents regarding waterfront activities and safety procedures

Qualifications:

• Minimum age of 21
• Current lifeguard certification (Red Cross, YMCA, or equivalent) with waterfront module. (Willing to recert. the right candidate)
• Current WSI certification (Willing to get certification for the right candidate)
• Previous experience in a leadership role at a summer camp or similar outdoor recreation setting.
• Strong swimming and canoeing skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with campers, staff, and parents
• CPR and First Aid certification (current within the past two years, willing to recert. the right candidate)
• Ability to pass all state and federal background checks

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $15.00 - $19.50 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
