PRESCHOOL TEACHER (Meadow Lakes Head Start) – Create a successful
environment that will promote the growth and development of young children
integrating educational goals and developmentally appropriate practices into the
classroom. Maintain contact with and provide services to families.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Pre-school (ages 3-5) classroom teaching experience is required, two years is preferred.
Experience adapting curriculum to meet the needs of all children including at risk, special
needs, and culturally diverse populations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate to advanced computer skills, internet and e-mail
Timely, competent record keeping ability. Good organizational skills
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
Valid Alaska Driver's License, current auto insurance and a good driving record
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Pre-hire: Fingerprinting/Background Check
Health Report
Post-hire: Annual Physical/Health History
CPR and First Aid Certification
Food Worker Card
Proof of current Alaska Driver’s License and auto insurance
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Location: Palmer Center
Supervisor: Center Coordinator
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/wk), part-year (35 weeks: summer and school
breaks off)
Salary: $20.68 - $24.60 per hour, exempt, DOE and education
Plus benefits- Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, professional development
opportunities, paid leave and holidays, retirement plan with matching contribution.
