QUALIFICATIONS:
- Photojournalists applying for this position must have non-linear editing experience, knowledge of file-based video transfer, and experience as a News Photographer and Editor
- Must have the ability to operate live bonded cellular transmit units, communicate effectively, work well under pressure, have a keen knowledge of situational safety, and meet deadlines.
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in a medium to large television market.
- Candidates will be accountable for maintaining assigned equipment, including news vehicles, cameras, lights, laptop editors, and peripheral gear, initiating repairs when necessary.
- Must be physically able to carry, shoulder, and shoot with a broadcast ENG camera (25 lbs. or more), as well as carry support equipment (tripod, lights, microphones, etc.)
- This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement with IATSE.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Excellent writing skills are a requirement! You have a strong curiosity about public relations; one to two years of related experience (PR assistant or agency experience preferred); outstanding organizational skills, strong communication skills; and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong breaking news skills
- Ability to incorporate social media and new technology into all the newscasts.
- Bachelor’s or technical degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or allied field preferred.
- Drone Pilot license a plus.
