Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) is the premiere non-profit fully integrated healthcare provider of substance use and behavioral health programs in Arizona, including prevention, education and treatment using cutting-edge, nationally recognized, evidence-based models.

We are currently seeking a Building Services Technician to join our Facilities team. This position will be working at both our Avondale location and our Scottsdale location!

Under the supervision of the Manager of Building and Site Services, the Building Services Technician, provides a full range of support services to the Facilities Operations / Facilities Construction divisions. The Building Services Technician will also provide facility upkeep as well as performing minor repairs and light maintenance work in the buildings they are assigned to. Building Services Technician also includes responding to emergency service calls, as well as inspecting the site at the start and end of each day to check for damage, vandalism or any other issues to the facility.

This position helps to ensure the facility is maintained in accordance to various rules and regulations including but not limited to:

  • OSHA - Occupation Safety and Health Administration
  • ADOSH - Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health
  • AAC - The American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Arizona Administrative Code
  • ADHS/OBHL - Arizona Department of Health Services/Department of Behavioral Health Licensure
  • CARF - Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities
  • CBI - Community Bridges (CBI) Policies and Procedures

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains a clean and safe environment in work areas while performing light maintenance duties.

Coordinates the retrieval, moving, setting up, cleaning up, removal and storage of items and equipment for locations under new or current site set up, and supplies for assigned locations, activities and events; performs physical site facility inspections/audits, damage analysis, light maintenance and minor repairs such as changing out door stops, outdoor trash, bathroom air fresheners, changing light bulbs, tighten cabinetry, clean drains, touch up paint, polish floors, some light and electrical fixtures; monitors building thermostat controls.

Provides upkeep and light maintenance to outdoor areas such as yards, walkways, and exterior buildings. Removes fallen branches, debris from walkways, snow, leaves, etc.

Participates in emergency situations; aware of location of emergency and nearest emergency exits, and of the use of emergency equipment, such as fire alarms, fire extinguishers.

Makes recommendations for improvements relating to facilities and monitors replacement status of tables, chairs, and other facility equipment (e.g., vending machines, lockers, ice machine, etc.); assists with purchases for basic maintenance and equipment which includes coordinating bids and price quotes for site maintenance needs, and improvements.

Schedules, records and maintains all facility and fire inspection reports and keeps accurate records for assigned sites.

Assists with planning, coordination and delivery of site furniture and facilities supply deliveries.

Provides preventative maintenance services (air filters, scheduled water heater inspections, belt lubrications and drainage schedules).

Maintains an inventory of maintenance supplies in accordance with facility and agency needs.

Reports maintenance and site problems to Facilities Manager and creates work orders utilizing the facilities ticket system. Coordinates weekly work order report with Facilities Manager. 

Reads and interprets equipment manuals on machines, and equipment.

Uses a variety of hand and power tools; electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

Detects faulty operations, defective material, and reports those and unusual situations to proper supervision.

Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.

Works with Manager of Building and Site Services and staff to identify hazardous conditions and unsafe work practices in the workplace and reports them to Facilities Manager.

Completes special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or GED, and completion of a craft equivalent, or
  • Equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, CREDENTIALS, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid AZ Driver’s License in good standing
  • Clean 39 month Motor Vehicle Report
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card (or the ability to obtain prior to first day)
