Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented Music Director to lead our music program and inspire our community through the power of music. The ideal candidate will have a passion for music and the ability to lead and mentor musicians of all levels.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the music program, including selecting repertoire, planning rehearsals, and conducting performances
- Provide musical direction and leadership to musicians and vocalists
- Collaborate with other staff members to integrate music into various events and programs
- Mentor and educate musicians to enhance their skills and performance abilities
- Communicate effectively with choir members, instrumentalists, and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive musical experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Music or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience as a Music Director or similar role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey musical concepts
- Ability to educate and mentor musicians of diverse backgrounds and skill levels

Rehearsal: Rehearsals are held at times other than in conjunction with a performance. Normally, rehearsals are held in the evenings during the week, but may be scheduled at other times to enhance rehearsal attendance. Rehearsals should be cancelled during “off” seasons if deemed necessary by the JBER Senior Protestant Chaplain.
Rehearsals are no less than 30 minutes in duration and require at least three (3) choir/band members to be present. Average rehearsal length is 60 minutes. Rehearsals will be held in a chapel facility.
Performance: Performances are held at the scheduled worship service time. A normal worship service is approximately 75 minutes in duration. On special religious holidays, a worship service may run longer. All performances shall include approximately a 15-minute warm-up period 30 minutes prior to the service start time and a 5 minute instrumental prelude leading up to the service. Location of warm-up may vary depending on facility availability.
***Service to be performed every Sunday for one year and special holidays. This is a one-year contract with an option for three additional years.

Pay: $50.00 - $70.00 per hour
