Construction Estimator (Residential Remodeling)

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. You will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates and construction schedules at various levels, from the order of magnitude estimate to the final Statements of Work (SOW) estimates. You will utilize the latest costing methodologies and data to present comprehensive breakdowns that can be easily understood by clients, project managers, and the project team.

Responsibilities:

• Review plans and specifications to prepare detailed estimates of remodeling and home addition projects based on design concepts, scope of work, architectural drawings, selections, and owner expectations.
• Understand and interpret schematics, and drawings.
• Conduct site inspections with trade partners to record existing conditions and forecast production needs for the estimate.
• Request, obtain, review and analyze trade partners bids and vendor quotes for best value Develop construction schedules that align with the project's timeline and requirements.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and the project team to establish effective work breakdown structures.
• Provide insights to Project Managers regarding development and construction approaches based on available information.
• Support other areas necessary to ensure the delivery of a high-quality product within schedule and budget.
• Produce all assigned deliverables as defined in the CBC Value Chain Process accurately, completely and in alignment with client design and budget intent to meet the prospective assigned design project timelines.
• Maintain a professional appearance, always follow the company dress code while in the office, at client sites or while representing CBC and enhance the positive experience of guests visiting our offices.
• Be proactive in searching out answers and information that is needed to move the cost estimate forward.
• Required to communicate openly and effectively with the client and other team members, setting clear expectations, then meeting or exceeding those expectations

Qualifications:

• Relevant training and/or certification in project cost estimating
• 5 years of experience in residential construction/estimating/design
• Proficiency in preparing construction and development cost estimates.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and research skills.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet and scheduling software
• Experience with database cost estimating software is preferred (CoConstruct, Buildertrend).
• Effective leadership skills and above-average written and oral communication abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
• Valid Washington state drivers license
• Able to lift 25 pounds without assistance and to climb a 6-foot ladder without assistance.
• Pass background check without incident and pass drug testing.

Compensation:

• $70,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
