About the Department and Position:
The Cayuga Centers Training Department’s mission is to provide our staff and foster parents with the knowledge and skills needed to best serve the youth, individuals and families in our programs and our agency as a whole. We strive to respond to the needs of programs, oversight agencies, and stakeholders with valuable and effective training materials, resources, and assessments.
Under the supervision of the Director of Foster Parent Training, the Assistant Director of Foster Parent Training will be responsible for the overall success of foster parent training programs and initiatives. The Assistant Director will collaborate with the Director and oversee the Foster Parent Trainers to ensure that foster parent training effectiveness is maximized to meet both agency and contractual and stakeholder standards.

Supervise, coach and strengthen the professional development of the Foster Parent Trainers
Ensure that existing and emerging Foster Parent training needs are identified and met
Assist with developing, researching, and implementing Foster Parent curricula relating to areas of agency programmatic need
Assist in developing Foster Parent training programs for new agency locations and programs
Oversee pre-service trainings and annual trainings required for prospective Foster Parents
Ensure Foster Parent training compliance with contracts, subcontracts and stakeholder requirements
Work with the Director of Foster Parent Training and meet regularly with Program Leadership to monitor ongoing training and identify potential areas for skill building and foster parent training
Recognize that the agency provides 24-hour - 7 day/week programs and provide flexible training hours as appropriate to meet foster parent needs
Ensure trainers' certifications as train the trainer are in compliance for various programs (i.e. - MAPP/GPSII, PRIDE, PST/FCFC, LGBTQAI , First Aid, CPR, and AED, etc.)
Responsible for complying with rules and regulations governing access to Protected Health Information under HIPAA. Access to Protected Health Information is limited to the extent required to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently. No access will be permitted unnecessarily. The essential job functions as described, herein, dictate the level of access, use, and disclosure of confidential information.

Schedule:
Regular hours entail 40 hours per week
Schedule Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM; must be flexible to meet program needs
Evenings and weekends may be required
