Cayuga Counseling Services Inc is Hiring a Billing Specialist Near Auburn, NY

Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc. is seeking a Billing Specialist to join the Agency Finance Department. This position is Full Time/40 hours per week and located at the Main Office in Auburn, NY. The Billing Specialist is responsible for maintaining the rate setups in the EHR and keeping up to date with all changes to ensure compliance with government and insurance policies and regulations.

The Billing Specialist responsibilities include the following:

  • Maintains all rate setups in the Electronic Health Record including updates.
  • Keep up to date with all changes to ensure compliance with government and insurance policies and regulations.
  • Submits weekly billing through Medent and Netsmart systems for all fee-for-service programs.
  • Review claims for accuracy and completeness, obtain and/or correct any missing or inaccurate information.
  • Compile and submit claims to appropriate payors within prescribed timelines.
  • Reasearch and resolve routine billing problems and discrepancies.
  • Research and rebill unpaid claims when appropriate to ensure optimum collections.
  • Post all payment to client accounts accurately.
  • Maintain cash log for insurance billings.
  • Assist with insurance eligibility determinations for clients.
  • Record all fee-for-service accounts receivable payments in Blackbaud and on spreadsheet.
  • Provide Monthly reports to management.
  • Mails client statements monthly.
  • Processes all scholarship applications and complete annual recertifications.
  • Processes insurance reaccreditation applications.
  • Assist with CFR preparation, funder audits and the annual Agency financial audit. Provides confidential internal and external customer service in all matters regarding the finance department.
  • Preforms other duties as needed.

Requirements of this position Include:

Qualified Candidates must have experience with medical coding and billing required, preferably in the mental health field. Experience utilizing Electronic Medical Record software, Netsmart and Medent preferred. Excellent computer skills required including Microsoft excel Skills. 3-5 years' experience in accounting, finance or billing. EEO.

  • 3 weeks of PTO in your first year, 4 weeks in your second year
