JOIN OUR TEAM AS A YOUTH AND FAMILY SKILLS COACH AND HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF CHILDREN IN OUR COMMUNITY!

Earn up to $20.00 to $22.00/hourly , plus 2 weeks vacation, 10 calendar holidays (Includes 1 floating holiday), 24 hours personal time, and 12 sick days a year.

The Cayuga Centers CNY TFFC Team is looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting hard to place youth in the foster care system. We wrap services around the youth, their family/kin/caregivers, and the foster parents to get a child home or to a permanent home as soon as possible. Youth and Family Skills Coaching services are designed to restore, rehabilitate, and support a child’s/youth’s developmentally appropriate functioning as necessary for the integration of the child/youth as an active and productive member of their family. Youth and Family Skills Coaches also support family units with coaching focused on permanency goals. This program provides ample opportunities to expand your application of evidence based practice while supporting program growth within the agency and community. Does this sound like it interests you? Schedule: Looking for an applicant who is willing to work with the youth/families at a time that suits the youth and family needs on a flexible schedule. This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position that includes evening and weekend hours.

How you get to use your skills….

  • Demonstrate your areas of creativity and engagement by implementing a variety of activities which includes evidence based intervention and solution-focused work
  • Become a primary support in helping children/youth develop preventative and responsive skills to cope
  • Work within the CNY TFFC team collaborating and developing treatment plans to suite the needs of the child
  • Demonstrate an inclusive practice both in the office and in the field to support a diverse and accepting culture

Experience and Skills:

  • High school diploma required
  • One year of experience working with youth and families
  • Training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention preferred
  • Ability to actively participant on a treatment team
  • Ability to maintain and uphold professional boundaries
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
  • Ability to work effectively and patiently with others in difficult and/or stressful situations
  • Ability to work within treatment models and acceptable behavior management principles to encourage behavior change
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License required
  • Safe and dependable vehicle required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to drive and operate a motor vehicle with passengers for at least four consecutive hours
  • Ability to participate in physical activities with program youth, including running, jumping, bending, and twisting
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs repeatedly
