Role Overview

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Cavnue you’ll bring critical skills to a team working on changing the built environment to create safe, reliable, and secure mobility experiences. We’re looking for someone who is familiar with Kubernetes at scale, both in cloud and on embedded devices. Help us build and solve some of the most complex, near real-time coordination problems at scales that matter to everyday people using our streets.

Roles Responsibilities:

• Building upon the current cloud and edge infrastructure already in place at Cavnue, you will implement the latest technologies within the GCP and Kubernetes/CNCF ecosystem to enable scalability and operability of Cavnue’s core platform.
• Create, deploy and maintain kubernetes operators to expand upon the built-in functionality of kubernetes.
• Working closely with DevEx, MLOps, Platform Engineering and Simulation teams to create scalable and efficient development and production environments.
• Participating in the engineering lifecycle and designing high-quality ML, Platform infrastructure and data pipelines, defining production code standards, conducting code reviews, and working alongside infrastructure, reliability, and hardware engineering teams.
• Join the Platform Operations Enablement team in defining Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code in tools such as Terraform, Ansible and Chef.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in cloud architectures and implementation of large-scale distributed systems utilizing Kubernetes.
• Proven track record of successfully designing and shipping distributed systems that operate at scale involving low latency and high availability.
• Highly experienced in developing and communicating both architectural plans and implementation details to internal and external audiences.
• Skilled in both Go and Python.
• Skilled in deploying, configuring and developing Kubernetes operators.
• Experience developing workflows in modern development environments and integrating tools such as GitHub, Jira, Confluence – or similar tools – to improve the Developer Experience for engineers across various engineering disciplines.
• Skilled at working on Linux systems.
• Deep knowledge in one or more of the following:
• Kubernetes observability utilizing open telemetry.
• Horizontal pod autoscaling for event-based architectures.
• Designing/implementing monitoring and alerting systems for distributed systems.
• IaC and CI/CD for GCP and GKE.

Nice to haves:

• Early-stage start-up experience is a plus.
• Real time or latency critical systems architecture and development.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the location(s) listed below and is the range Cavnue reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors. Actual pay may vary based on these factors and geography.

Remote - $145,000 to $195,000

Additional Compensation: The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in Cavnue's equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.) Note: Cavnue's benefit, compensation and incentive programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
