CathWorks is Hiring a Territory Manager Near Los Angeles, CA

CathWorks, with offices in USA, Israel, Japan, and Europe, is a fast-paced medical device start-up focused on digital health innovations to improve the lives of patients globally. The CathWorks FFRangio® System combines artificial intelligence (AI) and computational science to provide physicians with comprehensive physiologic information, enabling them to make better treatment decisions for their patients with coronary artery disease.

Recently, CathWorks entered into a strategic partnership with Medtronic to market and sell the FFRangio System globally. Medtronic is the global leader in medical technology and has more than 90,000 employees worldwide in more than 150 countries. The partnership with Medtronic will expand CathWorks’ footprint globally, enabling more patients to benefit from its revolutionary technology that is poised to disrupt the current coronary physiology market.

The Territory Manager will be responsible for creating and developing the FFRangio market in a given territory. Additionally, you will partner with CathWorks Physician Trainer, Medtronic Clinical Specialists, Medtronic CRDN Sales Rep, Medtronic District Manager, and Co-Promotion US Leadership Team to provide comprehensive guidance on the use of the device, thereby enabling physicians and staff to reach expert proficiency and deliver positive patient outcomes. To be successful in this role, you will need advanced competence in interventional cardiology, strong sales strategy and execution skills, a high degree of technical and clinical knowledge, as well as business savvy combined with leadership and training abilities that can effectively target key customers in a territory that promotes trust, loyalty and respect. In order to be considered for this role, you will need to have deep experiences in selling disruptive innovative products and therapies within the cath lab setting.

Multiple field positions being considered in the following 20 major markets: Los Angeles, Houston, Detroit, Philadelphia/New Jersey, Seattle, Denver, Phoenix, Oklahoma, Dallas, Atlanta, DC/Baltimore, Chicago, San Francisco, San Antonio, Kansas City, Austin, Orlando/Tampa, Portland, Virginia, Minneapolis.

Job Responsibilities:

Actively participate in the on-boarding training program to acquire a complete working knowledge of the CathWorks FFRangio System and physiology, developing an extensive understanding of all applications

  • Collaborate with Commercial Leadership and Sales Operation to identify right targets, and establish customer contact, launch FFRangio, and continue to strengthen the relationships to grow the adoption of FFRangio
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies by determining the relevant factors (e.g., hospital volume, competition and product needs) of existing and potential accounts to effectively promote the company's products to appropriate hospital physicians and support staff.
  • Strategically drive penetration of FFRangio in the given territory
  • Support actual procedures in the cardiac catheterization of hospital accounts to gain insight into the specific nuances of each physician and each member of the lab staff.
  • Creating new business with new customers
  • Coordinating and leading the sales process, all the activities from site selection to site independence (identifying site's team, coordinating launch and training) working closely with the Physician Trainers and Clinical Specialists according to the sales process
  • Being accountable for achieving sales targets
  • Closely monitoring sales activity, planning and preparing forecasts by account for the given territory as well as proposing expenses for meetings and/or customer activities and programs
  • Ensuring all customer records and documentations are up to date
  • Partnering with the Marketing Team to execute the launch strategy
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using a wide variety of formats and platforms (e.g., slides, transparencies, manuals) to secure purchasing commitments,
  • Plays a key role in the planning, development, and execution of growth strategies in collaboration with the Marketing & Sales Leadership team.
  • Collaborates with cross functional team in the development, implementation, and delivery of educational and commercial materials/programs for use with clinicians and staff.
  • Works directly with physicians to develop clinical champions among current and potential customers for FFRangio. 
  • Provide on-site and/or remote clinical application support to customers by providing scientific, technical information in response to inquiries regarding use of FFRangio.
  • Provide feedback to Marketing & R&D on clinical performance of products and partner with the Product Marketing Team in product development, in the development of product requirements and product validations
  • Communicate in a highly professional manner and develop effective relationships with customers to learn and stay up to date regarding clinical environments.
  • Represent CathWorks at identified national and regional cardiology conferences to grow customer relationships and showcase technology.

Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor or equivalent 4-year degree in Life Sciences, Bio Medical Engineering, related field or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience, including a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a commercial or Clinical Specialist within the medical device industry. A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in the sterile environment of a cath lab or operating room required.
  • Expertise in disruptive innovative technology and comfortable with hands-on clinician training
  • Established network in the interventional cardiology market required
  • Expert clinical skills specifically in interventional cardiology
  • Flexibility to easily change roles between technical and sales requirements
  • Commercial and/or clinical skills specifically in diagnostic & interventional cardiology space are strongly preferred; candidates with other relevant medical device clinical sales support experience will be considered.
  • Ability to coordinate/participate in numerous tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment in an organized manner while meeting deadlines
  • Customer facing skill-set that includes being driven and self-motivated, holding strong communication & interpersonal skills, being organized, and have proven record of closing and delivering
  • The ability to travel extensively (approx. 60-70%) and the flexibility to easily change hats between technical, clinical and sales requirements.
  • The ability to potentially travel abroad for training purposes.
  • Excellent customer service skills, interfacing with multiple constituencies including cardiologists, support staff and sales to effectively build relationships with external customers and internal team members.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a competitive drive, and a work ethic conducive to success.
  • Follow-through on tasks, collaborative across different functions and extend your role beyond the expressed Physician Trainer requirements.
