Catholic Urban Programs is a department of the Diocese of Belleville. CUP serves people in need throughout the Diocese with a concentration of East St. Louis and surrounding communities. Our social service programs work in collaboration to help meet the needs of our community’s most vulnerable. Our goal is to rekindle hope in those we serve as we support their progress towards self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities:  

• Complete comprehensive intake and assessment to develop a self sufficiency plan for clients receiving crisis intervention services.

• Provide financial assistance in the areas of utilities, transportation, food support, etc.

• Track assistance provided in all applicable databases

• Make appropriate internal and external referrals identified in clients needs assessment.

• Collect and analyze data for periodic reporting. Compares data to project goals and timelines and reports deficiencies to Program Manager.

• Assist clients in overcoming barriers through short-term interventions, advocacy and referrals.

• Assist client in gaining access to education, employment, life skills and financial training.

• Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor 

Qualifications Skills & Knowledge  

• Must be committed and well versed in the mission and values of Catholic Urban Programs.

• 3 years of case management experience in a nonprofit setting

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, decision-making and analytical skills

• Strong sense of self-direction and initiative.

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or other related fields.

• Weekend’s required. (Crisis Intervention Services are offered weekends on a by weekly basis)
