Lake Catholic High School, founded in 1970, is a coeducational comprehensive high school with a college preparatory emphasis. Lake Catholic is committed to educating young men and women of diverse means and ability throughout Northeast Ohio. With a population of some 500 students in grades nine through twelve and international students from a half dozen countries, Lake Catholic High School emphasizes spiritual growth in the Catholic faith as students learn, work, and serve.

Diocese of Cleveland High Schools

As one of five schools owned and operated by the Diocese of Cleveland, Lake Catholic functions under a President/Principal model of school administration. The Principal is the school's chief academic officer, supported by an Assistant Principal, Dean of Academics, and other staff, including guidance, athletics, and all faculty. The President serves as the chief of business operations, supported by the Director of Advancement, Chief Financial Officer, Director of Marketing, Director of Buildings & Grounds, and additional staff members responsible for marketing, communications, building maintenance, and advancement.

The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland and Lake Catholic High School are pleased to accept applications for the role of Director of Mission and Formation.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Facilities Director, the Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the campus including grounds-keeping, plumbing, carpentry, electrical work and vehicle maintenance and requires general working knowledge of such. This individual must possess a strong sense of service excellence, prioritization and time management skills along with the ability to manage relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a general representation of the key duties and responsibilities required of this position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Perform basic building repairs, i.e. LED/light bulb replacement, replace or repair urinal and toilet fixtures, plunge or snake sinks and toilets, replace or repair interior and exterior door hardware (lock sets and closers).
  • Perform general grounds upkeep (planting, watering, trim and weeding of all campus trees and plants, snow removal and ice treatment of sidewalks and walkways), removal of trash and debris for campus.
  • Regularly and proactively inspect facilities and equipment.
  • Maintain and monitor HVAC system.
  • Perform general painting and drywall repair.
  • Perform plumbing tasks including plunging and snaking sinks and toilets
  • Perform all maintenance requests timely, prioritize as needed.
  • Ensure day-to-day operations including coordinating with colleagues to insure proper set up for daily activities and events.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and orderly manner to insure a safe environment for students, staff and facility.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with a good driving record
  • CDL or Bus Driver endorsement preferred
  • Must pass background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending and squatting for extended periods of time
  • Frequent movement of furniture, tables and chairs

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years experience with HVAC systems
  • 3 years in a school environment

REQUIRED SKILLS AND TRAITS:

  • Must be well versed in a wide variety of maintenance responsibilities.
  • Must have general knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC (computer controls preferred) building systems.
  • Basic knowledge of construction, repair and maintenance procedures • Proficiency with repair tools, proper use and techniques
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to serve the needs of all members of the community
  • Detail-oriented, able to multitask, and remain flexible to the changing needs of the school and our many constituencies.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be flexible and have the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Regular and reliable attendance is essential to position

COMMITMENT:

  • Full-time 12-month position
  • Monday - Friday 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
