AVAILABLE POSITION: Director of Religious Education Saint Victor Parish, Richfield, Ohio The Director of Religious Education (DRE) is responsible for facilitating the catechesis and faith formation goals of Saint Victor Parish, primarily for approximately 100 children and youth in grades K through 8, sacramental preparation for First Communion and Confirmation, and Children’s Liturgy of the Word. The DRE administrates safe environment processes including VIRTUS, Praesidium and diocesan compliance. The DRE recruits and facilitates the ministry of volunteer catechists and has immediate supervisory oversight of a modest staff.

Administrative responsibilities include maintaining a database of religious education participants, coordinating financial operations with the Parish Accountant and recording sacramental events for program participants. The religious programs for grades K through 8 are on Sunday mornings from 9:45 – 11:15 AM at nearby Revere Middle School. A modest number of additional meetings, retreats and events occur annually. The responsibilities of the DRE are accomplished as needed during the parish office hours of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 AM – 4 PM. Certification as a Lay Ecclesial Minister and/or a Master’s Degree in Theology or Pastoral Theology is preferred. Compensation is commensurate with the training, experience, certification, interests and charisms of the candidate with average weekly hours ranging from 25 to 30 or less.
