Position Title: Director of Religious Education (DRE)

Reports To: Pastor

Hours: Full-time; will include some evenings and weekends

Parish Summary: St. Anselm Catholic Church is a growing parish of about 2300 families located in Chesterland Ohio. Located in Western Geauga County, parishioners have strong faith and family values. Candidates for this position have the opportunity to learn and grow with an innovative, enthusiastic, and newer parish staff. Position Summary: The Director of Religious Education will minister to the parish's youth through the Parish School of Religion (PSR), Sacramental programs, Vacation Bible School (VBS), and other educational programming with the goals of leading our young people and their families closer to Christ and forming missionary disciples. (S)He will serve as a collaborative member of the parish team and be a “face” of the parish and of Christ.

Position Responsibilities:

- Prepare and facilitate programming including weekly sessions for PSR, sacramental preparation, annual sacramental retreats, and summer opportunities. - Recruit, train, form, and supervise volunteers and core teams, including ensuring safe environment standards - Communicate with youth, young adults, families, and parish – explaining the vision, providing resources, and ongoing updates - Collaborate with parish school staff and faculty - Develop occasional programming for parish families and adults - Engage youth and adults in parish life and service - Maintain budget - Maintain a personal relationship with Christ through regular prayer, Mass attendance, and more.
