Job Title: Business Manager

Job Summary: The Business Manager will work directly for the school’s Chief Financial Officer, with direct responsibility for performing payroll duties, assuring timely and accurate submission of tax payments, posting account receivables in the general ledger, and ensure adequate funding and timely payment of account payables. This position interacts with numerous employees and vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities: Timely and accurate processing and submission of payroll through Paycor. Enter, process, and submit stipend payments. Transfer payroll 401K, 403B, and Roth IRA deductions to Voya online report. Complete appropriate paperwork for Operating and FIT accounts. Submit quarterly payroll reports for unemployment and worker’s compensation to TPAs. Timely payment of unemployment and worker’s compensation quarterly tax payments. Record all checks received on the check register and verify reconciliation with deposit. Post receivables to the proper G/L accounts. Maintain purchase order registry. Charge payables against the proper G/L accounts. Work efficiently in a fast paced environment. Prioritize payables, generate and mail checks. Monitor and alert CFO of unexpected variances on G/L charges and payables. Maintain financial security by following internal controls. Stay current and complies with federal, state, and local financial and legal requirements. Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential. Maintain and update Arbiter account. Prepare adhoc reports upon request. Ability to communicate clearly and timely with all employees and outside vendors via phone, in-person and email. Qualifications: Bachelor of Accounting, Finance, or related degree, or equivalent experience preferred. Experience processing and submitting payroll required. Experience with Paycor preferred. Ability to multi-task and remain flexible on a daily basis. Familiarity with accounting management programs – preferably Blackbaud. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Programs & Google platform). Physical Requirements: Regular use of hands and fingers. Movement including lifting, carrying, and moving work-related supplies and equipment. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. Working under time constraints and deadlines.
