Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is Hiring an Internship - Mental Health Near Racine, WI

Community Counseling Program
Some problems in life are too difficult to handle alone. When problems like tensions in a marriage, behavioral issues with a teen or pre-teen, depression, anxiety, or daily stressors overwhelm someone’s life, they do not need to walk that road alone. With over a hundred years of dedicated service to our neighbors in need, Catholic Charities Counseling Services, with the crucial help of our interns, is able to provide culturally competent, high quality mental health services to individuals, families, children, and couples of all faiths and backgrounds.
Mental Health Internship Program
Catholic Charities’ Mental Health Internship Program aims to compliment your coursework with an in-person clinical experience. As an intern, you will gain experience, confidence, and professional growth by managing your own client caseload. Interning with us provides a rewarding cross-cultural opportunity to gain experience in mental health with the satisfaction that you are making a difference in people’s lives, who struggle to receive quality mental health services due to the effects of poverty.
The internship program pairs you with both a clinical supervisor and clinical team for support as you provide mental health services to the local community. Under the supervision and with the support of Catholic Charities’ experienced therapists, interns provide in-office psychotherapy and counseling.
Expected Availability and Commitment
  • Internship duration of two consecutive semesters or one year.
  • 10 to 24 hours per week on-site during office hours (Monday through Friday beginning at 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM)
Required Qualifications
  • Students must be enrolled in a master’s degree program in Social Work or a counseling related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; a team player with a passion for developing and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus!
Join our mission to provide service to those in need, to advocate for justice and to call upon others to do the same. Partner with us to improve the lives of those we serve, to empower the most vulnerable, and to help reduce poverty through quality, compassionate, and effective human services.
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer regardless of race, color, religion, creed, sex, marital status, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, on-the-job injury, sexual orientation, political affiliation or belief.
