JOB SUMMARY : Performs regular maintenance and preventative maintenance duties for the Pinyon Pointe Transitional Housing facility and other assigned properties, ensuring licensing and facilities are maintained within the parameters of all city, state and federal regulations.

Coordinates and works with vendors to help troubleshoot and execute building maintenance, system repairs and upgrades. Requires an understanding of construction regulations and practices, often acts as working lead on small projects.

This position is a part-time, 20 hour per week position in a transitional housing facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :

  • Oversees the general maintenance of the facility and other assigned facilities, equipment and grounds including but not limited to minor and routine painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, drywall repair.
  • Manages the upkeep of the housing units to include updating vendor list and coordinating with maintenance supervisor on major repairs.
  • Performs landscape maintenance as required, scheduled or needed. This includes monitoring grounds watering systems, regular weeding and tree trimming.
  • Installs and maintains fire extinguisher recharging and replacement as needed or minimally annually.
  • Inspects units for habitability based on Housing Quality Standard HQS and conducts annual recertification inspections.
  • Responsible for obtaining materials needed for work performed. Orders and / or purchases maintenance supplies for facilities covered.

Ensures agency procurement process is followed regarding documentation, purchase orders, etc., and maintains a usage spreadsheet.

Submits credit card transactions for approval on a regular and timely basis.

  • Utilizes knowledge of field to offer alternative options and brainstorm regarding maintenance and facilities issues with supervisor.
  • Organizes and prioritizes work order requests from all employees on a daily basis. Ensures work is done promptly and efficiently.
  • As needed, will participate in moving furniture, setting up or breaking down conference rooms for meetings, re-arranging offices.
  • Required to fulfill basic maintenance functions regarding;PlumbingElectricalGeneral remodeling of a facilityDrywall and paintingFlooring repairCleaning and mitigating leaks, spills, and other maintenance emergencies as they ariseAppliance install, problem diagnosis, light to medium repairsApplication of general construction concepts and knowledge.

11. Promote ongoing commitment to excellence and continual quality improvement to ensure the highest quality of services to our staff and clients.

12. Performs other duties as assigned.

OTHER JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES :

  • Works alternative hours as required, including nights and weekends.
  • Maintains self and functional work environment.
  • Performs other tasks as may be required for the efficient comprehensive, integrated program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • Education / Background : Minimum of GED or High School diploma plus minimum 3 years of experience in field with progressively independent work processes. Bilingual preferred.
  • Job Knowledge : Equivalent knowledge to a General Contractor plus demonstrated ability to work independently and lead teams.

Flexibility required for position. Average understanding of security camera systems and backup operations. Above average understanding of security badge access systems and how to issue and delete access.

Moderate computer skills in Microsoft programs.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands : Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, sit on floor and ambulate over uneven floor surfaces including stairs, steps and playgrounds.

Must be able to climb ladder and work in restricted work spaces. Must be able to lift heavy objects weighing 50 lbs or more.

Position is exposed to inclement weather (extreme heat included). Must be able to drive to different worksites.

Other requirements : Valid AZ driver’s license, reliable transportation and ability to show proof of registration / must be 21 years of age or older to drive on behalf of Catholic One Fingerprint clearance or ability to obtain fingerprint clearance;

must maintain clearance.

Hourly rate starting at $16.11 and may increase depending on experience.
