Description

The Resettlement Transportation/Outreach Specialist works in close coordination with associated program case managers, other program staff and program partners to provide direct and support resettlement services and transportation to agency clients. Responsibilities focus on working directly with refugees in the field – in their homes, in the offices of refugee service providers and in the community at large.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Provides resettlement services to clients resettled by the agency in coordination with case managers, other program staff or program partners.
  • Directly provide and/or facilitate the timely provision of core services as well as supplementary resettlement services to clients. These services include but are not limited to:
      • Assisting client (s) in obtaining basic needs such as clothing
      • Assisting client(s) with getting to, from and signing in at health care appointments
      • Assisting client(s) with children in getting to, from and signing in at school district appointments
      • Assisting clients(s) with getting to, from and facilitating client during public benefits eligibility appointments
      • Assisting client(s) getting to, from and facilitating client during Social Security application appointments
  • Transport clients to other necessary appointments and assist with applications and service provision as requested and approved by the program.
  • Assist resettlement program management staff in completion of required clerical and/or administrative casework as needed/requested and approved by the program.
  • When necessary, document or give updates to case managers and other department staff on assigned clients and tasks
  • Maintains up-to-date professional knowledge through reading, workshops/trainings and conferences, as appropriate.
  • Participates in staff and department meetings as required.
  • Awareness of and active support of the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan. Including, but not limited to, supporting the Agency's Core Competency initiatives of being Collaborative and Community Focused, Innovative and Entrepreneurial, and Culturally Competent and Diverse
  • Other responsibilities as requested by supervisor

Qualifications


Education: High School Diploma. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Experience: Direct service delivery and/or casework experience preferred. Experience working in multi-cultural environment is preferred.

Other: Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
