Catholic Charities Diocese is Hiring a Safe Passages Case Aide Near San Diego, CA

POSITION TITLE: Case Aide – Safe Passages

DEPARTMENT: Refugee Services

REPORTS TO: Program Manager, Refugee Services

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

TIME COMMITMENT: Full-time (40 hours/week), early morning or early evening, and one weekend day per week

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervisor of the Program Director and Case Managers, the Safe Passages Case Aide will assist conducting Home Studies (HS) and Post Release Services (PRS) to unaccompanied children reuniting with sponsors. The Case Aide supports the Program Director in data management and quality assurance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Complete timely, accurate and professional documentation of case records to meet accreditation and funding requirements
  • Schedule home visits for Case Managers
  • Connect clients to appropriate resources including, but not limited to, education, mental health, and legal resources found through internal or external referrals in the community
  • Complete and maintain reporting requirements of USCCB, ORR.DCS, program administration and other reporting entities.
  • Ensure that reported information if accurate and reliable
  • Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of all client information
  • Maintain appropriate and professional boundaries with clients at all times
  • Assist with quality improvement efforts including file completeness reviews and audits
  • Maintain communication with clients, partners and the community
  • Other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local community social services, ability to work with partners and affiliates
  • Knowledge about family preservation, kinship care and child welfare
  • Experience working with immigrant populations
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with clients, co-workers and other individuals in a diverse, multicultural work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the utilization of electronic record keeping systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Excellent verbal and written communication using proper grammar and
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access – and other commonly used office software required
  • Familiarity with data management software and the use of databases for tracking the delivery of services to clients preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Safe driving record as demonstrated by a DMV report that shows no violations or restrictions
  • Must successfully pass a CPS Background Investigation
  • Must successfully pass an FBI fingerprint check of national and state criminal history
  • Tuberculin Skin Test
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (desired)
