Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland's System of Care is seeking empathic, compassionate, and mission-driven candidates to join our team as a Visitation Specialist. In this role you will provide close supervision of families who's children are in Department of Children and Family Services custody, guiding them to meet their children's needs consistently. The specialist will provide documentation to the Worker On Record at Department of Children and Family Services weekly, as well as complete goals for each family and make recommendations when the sixteen week service is over. The specialist will also carry some reunification cases, where children were recently reunified with their family and are adjusting to the change.

Program Statement:

Provide supported visitation and family focused support to families working to get their children back or have recently returned home. The goal is to improve parents ability to meet their children's developmental needs and help them adjust to the change brought about by transitioning back home, to their parent's care.

What You Will Do: 

  • Support visits for a two hour slot at the parent's home or in the community
  • Provide detailed documentation of your observations during the visits.
  • Provide parent(s) with feedback to help them see how they may want to respond differently to improve outcomes of their child's behavior.
  • Support families who have recently been reunified, to adjust to the change and develop routine and structure to help children feel safe.
