JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting the Program Supervisor with planning and executing pool operations for Summer Camp. Co-lead small groups of youth through recreational and education activities following the curriculum, policies, and goals. Manage pool operations and oversee contracted lifeguards during summer camp.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Open & Close Pool during summer camp ( 12-16 hours a week June 3rd -August 2nd. )

· Assist in supervising contracted lifeguards

· Test PH of pool water daily & contact site manager or director when levels are off

· Communicate with YMCA staff on days they conduct swimming and water safety lessons

· Prepares classrooms for each day’s activities.

· Assists Site Coordinator with registration needs and safety policies.

· Leads youth groups through daily activities, organizing events, and monitoring the safety of all students.

· Ensures that the facility policies, rules, safety standards, and sanitation requirements

are followed.

· Assists the Program Supervisor with additional activity planning, as needed.

· Supports the Mission, Values, and Vision of Catholic Charities of Dallas.

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or GED; some college preferred.

· One year of related work experience with youth and pool operations.

· Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Bilingual English and Spanish preferred but not necessary.

· Public health screenings or immunizations as indicated by program.

· CPR/First Aid Trainings as required by program.

· Efficient time management skills required.

· This position requires a criminal background check

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 16 per week
