SENIOR DIRECTOR OF ADVANCEMENT AND DONOR COMMUNICATIONS
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Senior Director of Advancement and Donor Communicationsis responsible for leading strategic initiatives to cultivate philanthropic support and the enhancement of relationships with major donors through frontline fundraising and donor communications. The position oversees donor communications across a variety of platforms and creates content in collaboration with the development team. The Senior Director works collaboratively with the advancement team as well as colleagues across the agency to secure support for Catholic Charities programs.This position would oversee the Stewardship Manager.

The Senior Director of Advancement and Donor Communications reports to the Chief Development Officer
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Collaborate with the Senior Director of Advancement and Chief Development Officer (CDO) to formulate a multi-year strategy aimed at expanding individual and major giving, providing guidance in its execution.
Identify and assess donor prospects, engage in solicitation efforts to secure increased commitments, and diligently steward donors, tracking outcomes.
Work with CDO to develop tailored cultivation and stewardship plans for a portfolio major donors ($10,000 )to secure substantial financial support and ensure enduring engagement.
Oversee the Stewardship Manager inplanning and execution of donor events and communications to express appreciation and showcaseimpact.
Oversight advisory board program including the creation of new advisory boards.
Partner with the Senior Director of Advancement and CDO to devise and execute a comprehensive development strategy aligned with organizational objectives and department needs.
Craft compelling appeals, acknowledgment letters, and stewardship materials consistent with the voice and brand of Catholic Charities.
Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Communications team to stay abreast of program updates and client features, ensuring alignment of messaging.
Develop engaging content across various communication platforms including newsletters, impact reports, and thewebsite tailored for donor audiences.
Develop social media campaigns in collaboration with MarComm.
Manage relationships with local printers, ensuring adherence to production schedules and evaluating the ROI of fundraising strategies.
Work closely with Maverick to manage our video projects for Spring Celebration, and other events or digital media as needed.
Perform work in an office environment and in the community with prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking.
Attendance at internal and external events, training and meetings.
Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
Attendance at meetings and trainings
Local travel as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience in development and fundraising, focusing on individual donor engagement, Supervisory experience preferred
Proven success in donor prospect research and individual gift solicitation.Proficiency in diverse fundraising avenues including annual, major, planned giving, and events.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a creative approach to addressing challenges.
Exceptional relationship-building, presentation, and communication skills.
Commitment to the mission of Catholic Charities and providing essential services to those in need.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel, and donor CRMs, preferably Raiser's Edge and design software including Adobe suite and Canva
Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, and willingness to travel as required.
Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for local travel.
