We are looking for an organized self-starter to join our team as a 2nd shift Section Manager 3 in LPSD at building KK, East Peoria, IL. As a section manager, you will be leading a group of operators to drive improvement in a very dynamic and exciting work environment.

Job Duties

• Monitors and improves shop floor safety, aggressively eliminates unsafe processes

• Assures fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules

• Determines priorities and sequences jobs

• Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts staffing to meet flow and customer requirements

• Determines and executes disciplinary action when appropriate

• Procures and distributes production material to meet schedules

• Increase production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination via LEAN principles

• Actively deploys section value stream improvements

• Practices and teaches CPS Guiding Principles

• Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with team leads and team members

• Drives root cause corrective action projects and drives continuous improvement

• Leads section status reporting and monitors / audits section

• Leads the creation, implementation, and training of standard work procedures

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a manufacturing-related discipline or 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

• Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing, manufacturing operations processes, materials and/or quality

• Must be willing to work outside of normal work hours including overtime and alternate shifts

Top Candidates will also have

• Caterpillar experience is highly preferred

• Prior experience in heavy machinery and/or assembly

• Advanced experience in Microsoft Office

• Project management skills

• Lean manufacturing experience

• Good organizational skills and multitasking skills

• Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

• This position will work 2nd shif

• The location for this position is East Peoria, IL in Building KK

• Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

• This position may require less than 10% travel
