Catbird is Hiring an E-Commerce Site Merchandise Senior Assistant Near Brooklyn, NY

Catbird, a DTC demi-fine jewelry company, is seeking a creative and highly analytical E-Commerce Site Merchandise Senior Assistant to join our team. The E-Commerce Site Merchandise Senior Assistant will be responsible for optimizing the overall product presentation and customer experience on our website. This includes coordinating product information and images across all categories, creating and maintaining site categories and navigation and executing strategies to increase site conversion and average order value. This position is hybrid at our Brooklyn Navy Yard HQ Tuesday-Thursday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring product inventory daily including out of stock items and arrival of new product launches – ensuring updates are made in a timely manner and communicating updates to external & internal teams
  • Manage daily product merchandising across the website on single product pages and multi-product pages - ie removing sold out items, moving down older products, removing seasonal copy that is outdated etc.
  • Liaise with internal departments (e.g., Marketing, Merchandising, Store Operations) to ensure alignment on site updates and to collaborate to understand weekly business results, to develop seasonal strategies and to ensure financial targets are achieved. 
  • Manage site updates including homepage, navigation, landing pages, copy updates, etc
  • Create and setup of new product listings including briefing creative needs for images and product copy
  • Create and maintain product categories with alignment with cross functional teams
  • Support with management of promo calendar, including setup and testing of promotions on site - ie discount codes, GWP, free shipping etc
  • Oversee monthly audit of promotion codes with cross functional teams
  • Assist with monthly ecomm reporting and other critical reports like site KPI’s, product performance, promo performance and provide actionable insights
  • Manage site search to ensure optimal customer experience
  • Manage product level analysis to understand slow and top sellers, and components impacting selling (image, position, marketing, etc.)
  • Partner with the front end/backend development team to assist in bug fixes relating to site pages, data issues and general merchandising. Assist in leading smaller enhancements and features on site.
  • Maintain direct knowledge of competition, marketplace, trends, and digital best practices 
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 2-3 years experience in ecommerce visual merchandising and content role
  • Strong communicator, ability to multitask and prioritize in a face pace environment. 
  • Solutions oriented - proven ability to problem solve, even when resources are limited. 
  • Proactive and autonomous. Must be able to drive forward processes and projects with limited guidance. 
  • Highly organized and detail oriented. 
  • Excellent at working toward a deadline, keeping projects on track. Positive, committed attitude.
  • Must be tech savvy - familiar with a CMS tool preferred 
  • Must be flexible to work evenings as necessary a few times a month for launches.
