Cataract and Laser Institute is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Fort Wayne, IN

We are always looking to the future and latest technology to ensure excellence in eye health care. Our goal is to recruit individuals that will lead, direct, encourage, and inspire in the work place. We also expect recruits to embrace the passion of helping others and bring a personal touch to each patients experience. We are looking for a OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN to join our growing team!

Previous experience is great but certainly not required. We have an excellent training program; therefore, with an energetic personality and willingness to learn we can provide you with the necessary skills to be a great Technician.

What We Offer:

  • Starting wage of $15 - $17 based on previous experience and certifications
  • 6.5 paid holidays per year

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare exam rooms and patients for eye examinations
  • Perform preliminary eye testing
  • Assist with patient procedures
  • Coordinate patient flow

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (per ADA guidelines):

  • Physical Activity: Standing for sustained periods of time, Stooping, Grasping, Lifting, Talking, Hearing.
  • Physical requirements: Light work. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 lbs from waist to shoulder, and 5 lbs from shoulder to overhead.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
