Job Description: Senior Application System Analyst
Summary: The Senior Application System Analyst serves as a liaison between system end-users, operational leaders, additional support resources, and vendors. They design, build, and optimize assigned applications, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes. This role involves application support, optimization, and collaboration with various teams to address service requests. The Senior Application System Analyst must possess healthcare knowledge, systems expertise, and exceptional communication skills to meet operational needs effectively.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, develop, test, document, implement, and optimize assigned applications and business processes to meet operational and technical requirements.
  • Provide guidance and leadership on quality assurance and testing initiatives. Lead complex integrated testing processes and manage testing projects when necessary.
  • Demonstrate advanced application understanding and expertise, creatively solving problems beyond standard recommendations.
  • Apply in-depth understanding of clinical/business operations, processes, and workflows. Maintain collaborative customer relationships and provide status reporting to stakeholders.
  • Lead and evaluate process and requirements analysis, conduct gap analysis, and provide cross-application recommendations.
  • Develop positive relationships with client management and end users, contributing to strategy discussions and displaying superior judgment.
  • Adhere to organization standards for system configuration and change control.
  • Collaborate with various teams, including Technical Team and Operational Leaders, to ensure standardized best practice workflows and optimal operational processes.
  • Coordinate code changes with relevant vendors and address infrastructure-related issues affecting application performance.
  • Serve as a liaison between business operations, providers, internal IT, system users, and vendors for issue and problem resolution.
  • Follow change management processes, review and provide feedback on documentation, and troubleshoot and resolve incidents and requests independently.
  • Manage medium to large-scale and complex projects/requests, exhibiting exceptional quality and ability to address complex end user needs.
  • Complete assigned courses within Healthstream and other tracking tools and participate in formal or informal training sessions.
  • Lead and coordinate high-impact vendor changes across applications.
  • May require travel and working long hours during critical issues and on-call rotation.

  • Ability to present complex data effectively, adapt to change, and solve problems.
  • Strong multitasking, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Associated certifications in the area of focus preferred.
  • For Epic Analysts, certification or proficiency in assigned Epic module required within 6 months of employment
