ENTRY LEVEL SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (Apprentice)

Location: Hybrid role, Some Remote / Some On-Site. You need to live within a commutable distance of Chicago, IL 60601

During your software developer journey, you will be provided the skills needed to succeed. Under the tutelage of experienced software developers, you will work on a team to hone both technical and interpersonal skills critical for real-world success. You’ll also be given the opportunity to build software for one of our many clients. You'll receive mentorship, coaching, and ongoing support throughout your Catalyte career.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Basic proficiency using a computer and the internet
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. for 30 continuous months. Catalyte does not offer visa assistance or sponsorship of any kind
  • Curiosity to learn new skills
  • Motivated
  • Catalye's standard practice is not to require degrees, however some clients have specific requirements. For this particular role a bachelor degree in one of the following areas is requiredData Analytics

How does the program work?

By applying to this program, you will be required to complete an online assessment to determine your eligibility for our software development roles. Once you’ve passed the assessment, you will proceed to an interview with our team to assess your suitability for the position.

During the interview process, your interviewer will evaluate your skills and abilities to determine if you would be a good fit for this position. If you pass the interview and there’s an upcoming cohort aligned to your job role, you will be invited to join. If there’s not an upcoming cohort for your job role immediately pending, you will remain in our candidate pool.

Once invited to a cohort, you will undergo a comprehensive twenty-week full-time paid training program under the guidance of experienced software developers. The training encompasses a combination of lectures, online learning, group projects, and individual assignments. It is important to note that graduation from the program is contingent upon successfully completing all assignments while demonstrating professional acumen.

Upon graduation, you will be deployed into an apprenticeship as a software developer, working with our client partners. Please note that graduation is not guaranteed, as it depends on successfully meeting all the requirements and demonstrating the necessary skills to be successful in the job.

Pay and benefits

You will receive your local minimum wage for 30 hours per week for the first 20 weeks. Starting in week 21, pay will increase to $40,000/year paid hourly, and you will receive additional benefits including paid holidays and time-off, health, vision and dental benefits.
