Catalina United Methodist Day School, a vibrant and multicultural Preschool nestled in the Sam Hughes neighborhood, has been serving the community as a non-profit institution since 1964. Our established toddler room is currently in search of a collaborative and dedicated toddler teacher to join our team.
Essential Functions:
· Responsible for the safety of all children in your classroom and on the playground
· Help plan and implement activities that promote the social, cognitive, physical, and emotional growth of children
· Responsible for the care, hygiene, diapering, learning and developmental activities
· Demonstrated skills in early childhood curriculum and the Infant Toddler Standards and implementation
· Actively always engaged with the children
· While serving as a role model through appearance and actions
· Provide a loving and nurturing environment for all children
· Follow lesson plans and daily schedule post in your classroom
· Follow Quality First and Licensing standards and regulations
· Develop opportunities to encourage children’s self-esteem
· Maintain an environment (both indoors and outdoors) that is safe, clean, and inviting
Job Requirements:
· Must have at least six months – 1 year of classroom experience in the infant and toddler classrooms (Desired)
· CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain (Required)
· Fingerprint Card (Current) or willingness to obtain (Required)
· High School Diploma or GED (Required)
· Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education (Desired but not required)
· Excellent organizational skills
· Ability to be flexible
· Must be a team player
· Ability to work on their feet for long periods
· Proficient in writing and interpersonal skills
· Some basic computer skills (Required)
