As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible to maintain, update, trouble shoot and improve the controls system for industrial machining equipment, and integrated robotic assemblies across a machine shop. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Provide Controls Engineering support for industrial machines including but not limited to CNC machining centers using Siemens, Fanuc and Rexroth controllers. Modify / Program HMI’s on CNC and PLC based machines. Provide Controls Engineering support on vision systems, robotics, data management. Participate in the specification, installation and launch of new equipment from a controls perspective. Work with maintenance to assist in machine troubleshooting and repair and train maintenance technicians as necessary. Assist in the setup of preventative maintenance and spare parts. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar discipline, or Associates Degree in Engineering or similar discipline with 5 years of related experience or 10 plus years related experience working with control systems. Strong initiative to solve problems which fall outside of documented processes. Ability to collect and analyze data and develop solutions that are in the best interest of the company. Knowledgeable and capable of troubleshooting and / or modifying programs on various types of PLC's Allen Bradley, Modicon, Siemens, Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and data management Experience with AC variable frequency controllers and servo motor controllers Strong logic programming skills and background. Ability to understand complex logic and interfaces between systems to determine what the logic is supposed to do. Experience with IP Networking. Ability to read control wiring diagrams and schematics Top Candidates Will Also Have: Experience with industrial fieldbuses (DeviceNet, Profibus, ASI bus) preferred. Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in work group Ability to take initiative and drive creative ideas forward.
