Casualty Actuarial Society is Hiring an IT Coordinator Near Arlington, VA

Title: IT Coordinator

Reports to: Director of IT

Scope of Responsibilities:

Are you eager to kickstart your career in a dynamic, hybrid, and supportive environment that values initiative and teamwork? We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic IT Coordinator to support our team members.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Project Coordination: Assist in organizing IT-related projects, including scheduling, research, logistics, and preparation of materials.
  • AV Support and Coordination: Provide pre-meeting and onsite audiovisual coordination and support at CAS events, both locally and across North America.
  • Equipment Management: Coordinate the inventory, storage, maintenance, distribution, and collection of equipment among staff and with the Managed Service Provider (MSP).
  • Helpdesk Assistance: Respond to general helpdesk inquiries and support staff with basic technical issues.
  • Managed Services Liaison: Work closely with the MSP for coordinating various IT projects and tasks.
  • Data Reporting: Create and compile reports using the Association Management System (AMS) and other data sources.
  • Relationship Building: Foster and maintain positive working relationships, demonstrating teamwork and independent problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability: Adapt to changing priorities and contribute positively, in a collaborative work environment.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; candidates should have at least two years of IT and/or project management experience, ideally in an association setting. Internship experience considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Certifications in Microsoft 365 or knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, Power Bi and other business intelligence and visualization tools a plus.
  • Proficiency using survey tools such as Survey Monkey highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with high initiative and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, capable of juggling multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with high initiative and attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing, verbal presentation and project management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including travel within North America and occasional evening and weekend hours.

This position allows for 3-4 days per week telework; the other 1-2 days per week are in the Arlington, VA office with additional days in the office as needed for IT projects, event preparation, planning meetings, etc.
