Cass County Weed Control is currently seeking a person to assist in the control of noxious and invasive weeds in Cass County
Cass County Weed Control’s mission is to provide leadership and education in the long-term control of noxious/invasive weed management through cultural, biological, and chemical control
JOB DUTIES
Scout for and apply appropriate control methods to noxious and invasive weed sites. Control methods will include chemical, mechanical, and biological agents. Map noxious and invasive weed sites using GPS and computer mapping equipment. Data entry using Microsoft Excel and GPS mapping programs. Maintain spray equipment and other duties as assigned by Weed Officer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE NEEDED
High School Diploma; valid driver’s license; ability to acquire Commercial Applicator Certification in Ag Pest Control and Right-of-Way categories. Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. and walk ½ mile through rough terrain, drive an ATV with sprayer, drive a truck pulling equipment trailer. Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, and GPS (Global Positioning Systems) equipment. Must be 18 years or older by May 22, 2024.
DESIRED AND/OR PREFERRED
College course work or related field of noxious and invasive weeds, chemical and biological control methods of noxious weeds. GPS mapping programs. Map reading skills.
EMPLOYMENT TIMELINE
Starting on approximately May 20, 2024, through August 23, 2024.
40 hours/week depending on the weather.
