The position of Communication Adjunct Instructor teaches college courses is expected classes will be taught using a variety of formats to include conventional face to face courses and digital formats.
The position reports to the Dean of the School of Social and Behavioral Science. Basic responsibilities of Adjunct Instructor is to review and distribute course syllabi to each class, follow standard course design designated by the Dean or School, arrange for the acquisition and preparation of appropriate materials and equipment necessary to meet course objectives, and basic reporting duties including grade reports, etc. The Adjunct Instructor is evaluated by students, the Dean and Department, and the college administration.
Typical work environment is a classroom, computer lab and/or office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Work is usually performed during the normal workday, however, occasional early morning, late evening and weekend work may be required. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors travelling between campus buildings in various weather conditions.
Employee must be able to stand for long periods of time, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use computer, feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
Applications for faculty positions will be screened to ensure applicants meet the necessary credential requirements set forth by the Higher Learning Commission to teach college credit classes.
