Position: Director of Security

Department: Security

Job Summary:

The Director of Security develops implements and maintains policies and programs to ensure physical safety of the casino’s guests, employees, property and assets; complies with security requirements and the casino’s internal controls. Responsible for the successful overall daily operations of the Security Department, in accordance with establishment company policies, procedures, and objectives. As well as guidelines set out.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Specific areas of responsibility included but not limited to.)

· Develops and implements departmental policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure the protection of all company assets as wells as the safety and welfare of guests and team members.

· Making suggestions and recommendations, as appropriate, for the internal security of specific operations and departments as well as all guests on property.

· Ensures the quality of operations in all areas of the Security Department.

· Enforces performance standards within the department.

· Supervises all activities on property, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, and regulations and controls of the company, OSA, and Gaming Commission are enforced throughout the company.

· Manages investigations conducted by the Security Department.

· Investigates any losses that may or may have not been a result of criminal actions, and reports results to the appropriate entity.

· Continually monitor staffing to ensure adequate coverage for all anticipated business requirements and compliance with Security Department minimum staffing requirements.

· Implements a strategy for the protection of life and property at the company.

· Authorizes security clearance and/or access to sensitive areas of the property.

· Maintains adequate staffing levels in the Security Department, by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and terminating employees, as needed.

· Develops and maintains good working relationships with various members of the community (i.e. Gaming Commission, Police Department, Sheriff’s Department, Fire Department.)

· Reviews departmental reports, addressing potential conflicts and/or misinformation.

· Ensures a maximum level of customer service and satisfaction throughout the property is achieved and maintained.

· Facilities the flow of information throughout the property, by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with all Security Employees.

· Held accountable, to a high degree for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.

· Routinely tours and inspects the property, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting it to the appropriate person, for proper resolution.

· Develops and implements Security departmental budgets

· Plans growth opportunities to those Employees who display the necessary skills, motivation, and attitude to progress within the company.

· Provides for the fair and equitable treatment of all Security Employees.

· Cooperates with, but performs independently of all other departments on property.

· Directs the overall operation of the Security Department, in the absence of the COO.

· Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

· Directly supervises all shift managers and supervisors, indirectly supervises the activities of all other Security Department Employees.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Knowledge and understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and tribal laws and regulations as well as Gaming Enterprise Division’s (GED) internal controls, policies, and procedures.

· Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software, especially word processing and spreadsheet applications.

· Superb team leadership and development as well as collaborating ability.

· Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal direct supervision.

· Ability to assess and evaluate team member performance fairly.

· Ability to supervise, train, and motivate multiple levels of staff.

· Ability to perform mathematical computations pertaining to the position.

· Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans.

· Skilled in proactively assessing organizational performance and aligning solutions with strategic and cultural initiatives.

· Demonstrated success of strong relationship management and team building skills, with ability to influence leaders and team members at all levels within the greater organization. Experience with change management and rolling out small and large scale initiatives.

· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, as well as, to top management and public groups.

· Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Mandatory Requirements:

· Ten years security experience.

· Must have been a Director for 3 years or a Manager for 7 years in security or related field.

· Must have managed a large department

· Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Background and knowledge of security operations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, safety, investigation, and legal issues.

· A proven people leader with success building and leading high performing teams. Act as a leader of change and innovation across the business.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Associate or Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security, Business Management or related field preferred.

· Gaming Industry Experience.

· Tribal Gaming experience
