Cascade Biocatalysts is Hiring a Laboratory Analyst Near Denver, CO

Job Description:

Cascade Biocatalysts is seeking a dynamic and motivated Laboratory Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing quality control (QC) of our Body Armor for Enzymes™ technology. Your meticulous attention to detail and adherence to lab protocols will ensure the integrity and reliability of our products. This position involves working in a wet laboratory and requires proficiency with fundamental lab techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Biocatalysis: Conduct a range of biochemical assays under the supervision of senior researchers, including enzyme activity and enzyme concentration measurements.
  • Analytical chemistry: Perform routine analytical testing of our products, including thermal analysis (TGA) and spectroscopy (FTIR).
  • Data collection and analysis: Accurately record experimental procedures, observations, and results.
  • Attention to detail: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and reliability of results. Maintain accurate inventory of chemicals, enzymes, and supplies.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chemists, chemical engineers, and biologists to achieve product development goals.
  • Laboratory maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory space. Assist with maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemical or biological engineering, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience working in a wet lab. Proficiency with fundamental lab techniques is a must.
  • Strong attention to detail: Ability to meticulously follow experimental protocols, accurately record data, and identify any anomalies or deviations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in data entry and basic data analysis.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new methods and technologies.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work in a fast paced, rapidly evolving startup environment.
