Bilingual Nurse Job Description:

Seeking bilingual (English and Spanish) registered or licensed practical nurses to join our non-profit clinic serving underserved, uninsured children and adolescent patients in Silver Spring, Maryland. Overseen by a retired Professor of Medicine after many years of clinical and research experience with the African American and Hispanic communities. This position require strong organizational skills and experience with clinical operations.

We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills with patients, families, staff members and supervisors. Also someone who has strong leadership skills and who is able to take on independent tasks.

Nurses Duties and Responsibilities

• Screen patients and their health history review
• Discuss and report on patients symptoms
• Perform thorough physical examinations and screenings of patients
• Order and administer tests including bloodwork
• Review and interpret test results to diagnose health problems
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Recommend further treatment options or future appointments if needed
• Provide referrals to patients when necessary
• Provide after-care/ongoing care information and resources to patients and their families
• Ensure patient records are kept up to date in the electronic health record system including test results, immunizations, condition changes, etc.

Nurse Requirements and Qualifications

· Understands HIPAA and OSHA regulations

· Able to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and other nurses

· Proficient in EHR medical charting system and computer-based data management programs and information systems

Software requirements (highly preferred): Electronic Medical Records, including scheduling, prescribing, and referrals; Vaccine for Children, and Microsoft Office 365 Online Suite.

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
